Marathon in the Sky

Y'all know how much I really like the Library Tower in downtown Los Angeles; you've seen the pictures. Technically, it's now the US Bank Tower, but whatever to corporate greed.

Every year there is a run up its 75 flights. Sponsored by firemen and damn, do I need me some more of those. So this year, I'm joining in.

I'm done running over land. I want to run up into the clouds. And did I mention: FIREMEN?!

1,108 feet. 1500 stairs. And yeah, I totally think that sounds like fun.

I might be crazy. So what?

at least this way when you pass out there will be a hot fireman to give you mouth to mouth!
I'm doing the breast cancer run in a couple weeks and the only people there to give me mouth to mouth are other cancer patients...and my bf...but he doesn't count.

(p.s. my word verification has "TMJ" in it....all I think of when I see that is lock jaw! And you know you can get that...)

Damn, I just did 294 steps in Boston and couldn't walk for a week. Going up was tiring, but fine. Coming down sucked because I wasn't used to using those muscles. I hope you get to take the elevator down!!

Wow, that sounds like a great workout. I've tried that, and I can blast up about 3 sets, then I'm gasping and clinging to the wall at about 10. It's always harder than it sounds.

Metroblogging LA gave me a little link love because of this post. Neat!

I figure if I can do 40 flights in 10 minutes on a stairclimber, and I've got over a month to "train," this really shouldn't be a problem.

Fun for all!
